Sonographer, Weekend Nights

Description:

Part time (0.8 FTE); 32 hours per week, including weekend night shifts and two evening shifts during weekdays.

Loyola Medical Center, western suburbs of Chicago; approximately 35 minutes from downtown Chicago; easy access from I-290 and I-55.

• Perform and demonstrate competence in ultrasonic scanning procedures, producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data for physician diagnosis.
• Recognize, identify, and document normal anatomy, abnormalities, disease, pathology, and pathophysiology for accurate diagnosis.
• Perform all ultrasound procedures per department protocol for all patient age categories (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
• Complete ultrasonic scans within procedure time parameters to expedite patient care.

• Associate Degree from an accredited two-year Ultrasound Program or equivalent work experience.
• Graduation from an AMA approved Sonography program or CAAHEP approved school of Ultrasound Technology.
• Less than one year of previous job-related experience (
  New graduates may have 9-month coursework including clinical rotation).
• Effective communication with all organization levels.

• CPR certification from American Heart Association (only).
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) – specialization in Abdomen, Ob/Gyn or PS.
• New graduates must obtain certification within 3 months of hire.

• Preferred:
  Registration within 3 months of hire, in a minimum of one to two specialties of either Abdomen and/or Obstetrics & Gynecology.

$39.00 - $59.00 per hour; actual compensation within range, may vary by experience, qualifications, etc.
