Service Coordinator

Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL
Full‑time, 12‑hour day shift. 3x12‑hour shifts plus an additional 4 hours; every other weekend and usually no holidays.
The Service Coordinator facilitates smooth operations of a patient service area by providing clerical support for healthcare team members, patients, and families on an inpatient unit.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitates communication with and between staff members, patients, and family members to ensure that information related to patient conditions and concerns is relayed in a timely manner.
- Accesses and operates the paging system, phones, call lights, and internal Information Technology Help Desk.
- Communicates with staff to maintain smooth operation of the unit.
- Enters data into the computer, prepares new patient charts for admissions, and ensures appropriate forms and paperwork are in order to maintain accurate medical records.
- Audits charts to identify missing or incomplete records.
- Processes and requisitions patient care service orders based on physician orders and instruction from professional staff.
- Processes completed records following patient discharge.
- High School Diploma required.
- Experience in a healthcare or patient‑service environment is preferred.
15.45 – 19.68 USD per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, and other factors.
