Location: Maywood with occasional travel to Melrose Park (Gottlieb) and River Forest.

Shift: Rotating Shift

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of direct patient care procedures to assist the unit manager, professional staff, and physicians in providing patient care focused on the needs of the patient.
• GENERAL PATIENT CARE – Meet the patient’s comfort and hygiene needs.
• TECHNICAL CARE – Assist with patient testing and treatment procedures; set up and prime IV tubing, 12‑lead ECG, simple tracheostomy suctioning and care, change dressings, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, obtain wound and throat cultures.
• EQUIPMENT – Assist physician and professional staff in equipment supply and set up.
• TRANSPORT – Assist with ambulating patients using assistive devices such as crutches and with transfer/transport procedures.
• COMMUNICATION – Perform required documentation and communicate effectively to meet patient/family needs and regulatory requirements; maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee and department information to ensure patient rights.
• QUALITY IMPROVEMENT – Utilize time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
• Preferred Education: High School Diploma with additional work or education training.
• Minimum Experience (Required): Less than one year of previous job‑related experience.
• Preferred Experience: 1–2 years of previous job‑related experience.
• Licensure/Certification s (Required): Certified Nurse Assistant, BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA.
• Other: Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program with placement on the Illinois Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry or verification of an equal or higher educational level in a clinically focused program. Individuals working as Patient Care Assistants at Loyola University Medical Center prior to 1997 are exempt from the above guidelines and are grandfathered into the Patient Care Tech roles upon successful completion of an in‑house orientation and training program for the Patient Care Tech position.

Salary Range: $16.70 – $25.53 per hour (Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles).
