Loyola Medical Center, Maywood, IL - Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position; this position DOES NOT participate in the F‑1 STEM OPT extension program.
In this role, the Technical Specialist – Lab Core is responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care by performing laboratory testing that is utilized in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This includes waived, moderate, and high‑complexity testing. Experience with waived, moderate, and high‑complexity testing in a clinical laboratory setting is required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the medical director, manager, and faculty to develop new procedures or programs.
- Evaluating, validating, and implementing new instrumentation and procedures.
- Developing written procedures to maintain regulatory compliance and support new instrumentation and test methodologies.
- Collaborating with the director to review and revise procedure manuals to ensure test accuracy and regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Communicating changes in policies and procedures to appropriate medical center staff and/or clients.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology/Technician or Medical Laboratory Science).
- Certified Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or laboratory‑discipline‑specific or specialty certificate (e.g., ASCP or AMT).
- 3–5 years of core‑hematology or related experience.
- Board‑certified general supervisor (B.S. degree and 1 year clinical experience, or M.S. degree and 1 year clinical experience).

Pay Range: $33.00 – $48.00 per hour.
