What You'll DoThe OB Surgical Tech assists the surgical team during operative procedures. As a surgical team member under direct supervision of the circulating RN, you provide pre‑operative and intra‑operative patient care. You demonstrate knowledge of the use and care of all surgical instruments, both intra‑operatively and post‑operatively, and knowledge of all surgical electrical equipment to ensure optimum working order. You prepare for surgical procedures by turning over the room and assessing equipment and set‑up needs for the next scheduled case, demonstrating proper scrub technique, gowning and gloving for yourself and other surgical team members.
You demonstrate proper draping technique with appropriate back table and Mayo stand setup and knowledge of the name and function of instruments. You maintain proper care of instruments intra‑operatively and post‑operatively, stay attentive to the surgical team, anticipate the next need of the surgeon, and count sponges, instruments, and sharps while maintaining continuous awareness of their location on the surgical field.
You accurately care and handle specimens, practice Universal Precautions at all times, appropriately order and stock supplies for the L&D Operating Room and L&D unit, and prepare birthing rooms for anticipated vaginal deliveries.

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)- Preferred Licensure/Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist

Pay Range: $24.44 - $39.11 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
