Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular & Transplant Registry

Employment Type: Part-time, 12‑hour rotating night shift

Location: Loyola University Medical Center, Chicagoland area

The 5 Tower (Cardiac Surgery & Step‑Down Unit) is a 32‑bed inpatient unit specializing in care for post‑operative cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, lung transplants, heart transplants, and advanced heart failure (LVADs). The unit also includes a 6‑bed transitional unit for high‑acuity patients. Nurses on this unit develop skills in cardiac telemetry, cardiac drips, chest tubes, external pacers, and more.

Provide high‑quality nursing care to post‑operative cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing equipment, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and recovery.

• A diploma from an accredited nursing program (BSN or ADN) is required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required before hire.
• Active Illinois Board of Nursing license required before hire.
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred; new graduates are welcome.

BSN: $34.76 – $57.06 per hour
ADN: $32.31 – $50.71 per hour
