Duties
* Develop process control plans and procedures for ammunition load, assemble and pack maintenance, renovation, and demilitarization operations.
* Provide technical advice on facilities, machinery, methods, materials, and standards for ammunition production operations.
* Plan all aspects of the project including equipment facilities and processes.
* Analyze processes for all ammunition production and maintenance line operations.
* Lead process improvement studies on production, renovation, and demilitarization lines. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing.
* This position is a Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
* This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* This position requires travel to locations approximated 25% of the time. Qualifications Who May Apply:

* Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes;
* Apply a practical knowledge of the methods, materials, machinery, and facilities used in industrial production operations;
* Interpret instructions for final acceptance inspection of load, assemble and pack (LAP) and maintenance/renovation operations; and
* Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to bring the production process into compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR
Education:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as:
Applied Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, or Industrial Management . OR Combination of
Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
