Duties
This is a developmental position being filled at the GS-07/09 with target GS-09/11/12 levels. Duties are performed under closer than normal supervision. The full performance GS-12 level of this position entails the following duties:
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and support staff developing advanced process technology, equipment, and control methods for demilitarizing conventional ammunition, tactical missiles, and strategic rocket motors.
- Apply and adapt engineering theories, practices and precedents to solve problems related to the demilitarization of munition items.
- Responsible for the transfer and integration of newly demonstrated munitions demilitarization technologies into the organic base.
- Plan, prepare, and execute technology engineering projects and related studies to establish new or improved procedural techniques.
