* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
* Performs duties which involve the control, accountability and shipment of arms, ammunition and explosives (AAE). Incumbent must maintain AAE Security Certification/Screening IAW AR 190-11
* This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
* Performs duties, which may involve handling and storing hazardous waste material. Must complete the introductory hazardous waste management course within six months of being assigned and attend annual hazardous waste management refresher course. Qualifications Who May Apply:

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an Explosives Operator Leader without more than normal supervision. Ability to lead or supervise as an Explosives Operator Leader. Perform common working leader duties laying out assignments for others, demonstrating how to set up and operate equipment and tools, inspecting other works, giving directions to number of employees, checking work for compliance and providing status reports to supervisor.

* Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. PHYSICAL EFFORT Frequently lifts objects weighing 30 to 40 pounds. Some assignments require lifts above 60 pounds at a production pace. All lifts over 50 pounds will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling equipment lifting device. The two person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts.
