What You Will Do
- Provide oversight for all employees within the area of responsibility and additional support/technical personnel.
- Collaborate and communicate with upstream and downstream VSMs and leadership.
- Utilize knowledge of manufacturing principles, support team roles, and manufacturing systems to support initiatives, projects, improvements, and efforts.
- Oversee and lead the generation, development, and sustainment of product‑focused processes, tooling, and equipment architecture.
- Deploy and maintain lean transformation activities in conjunction with value stream and support teams.
- Deploy and maintain CORE structure, concepts and execution including tier accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide personnel performance input for all related functions and support career development of team members through coaching and mentoring.
- Plan, sequence, schedule, and coordinate manufacturing workflow, including failure triage support and reporting tasks.
- Compile labor forecasts and estimates at Compete (EACs) for support and touch employees.
- Develop short‑term and long‑term strategic plans, and define and execute priorities related to safety, people, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Interact with support engineering, supply chain, and quality regarding project schedules.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience in manufacturing or operations.
- Experience in manufacturing or operations, supervisory, managerial, or leadership roles.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret level). U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering practices.
- Experience leading a direct team with specific deadlines, requirements, or deliverables.
- Superior communication skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, especially a composites factory.
- Understanding of associated processes and cross‑functional team environments.
- Knowledge of quality requirements related to manufacturing environments.
