• Serve as Lead Police Officer of subordinate police officers engaged in law enforcement duties on a major military installation.
• Distribute and balance the workload among employees, ensuring timely accomplishment of duties.
• Ensure all patrols follow organizational SOP and hold subordinates responsible for accountability, care, and preventive maintenance of assigned property/equipment.
• Serve as a criminal investigator, leading and conducting investigations of certain felony and most non‑felony matters involving crimes against persons and property.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must pass periodic medical examinations and required physical agility tests.
- Successfully pass Annual Physical Agility Test AR 190‑56 (PAT).
- Must meet established hearing and vision tests.
- Must carry firearms and successfully qualify on assigned weapon(s) on an annual basis.
- Must wear uniform.
- Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and first aid.
- Overtime and/or Emergency Overtime may be required.
- Requires rotating shifts.
- Designated drug‑testing program.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Possess a valid state driver's license.
- Must have a working contact number and be able to be reached at all times.
- Must pass a required certification program and successfully complete an accredited law enforcement training academy (at least 400 classroom hours).
- Must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and garments; certification required for chemical aerosol irritants, Tasers, and Radar/Lidar speed detection devices.
- Failure to maintain minimum standards may result in termination of employment.
- Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony domestic violence crimes are not eligible for this position (1996 LAUTENBERG Amendment).

- Perform dispatch duties in the absence of on‑shift personnel.
- Maintain net control of the security force radio communication systems.
- Control and coordinate security forces by in‑person, radio, or telephone contact.
- Enforce special and required security measures to protect life and property.
- Assign personnel to work assignments and ensure timely completion.
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade GS‑06 (or equivalent).
Physical DemandsRecurring and unpredictably strenuous physical effort is required for apprehending, subduing, and detaining persons, performing body searches, and using unarmed self‑defense techniques. Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs. and carry or move persons weighing up to 180 lbs.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment regularly involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress requiring safety precautions. Duties are performed outdoors in various weather climates, conditions, and temperatures.
