As a Junior Accountant, you will provide administrative and financial support by processing invoices, maintaining financial records, assisting with reconciliations, and supporting payroll and accounts payable/receivable activities. You will work under the guidance of our Finance Manager and receive hands‑on experience in nonprofit/government financial operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
  • Process and verify invoices, billings, travel vouchers, and purchase orders
  • Assist with accounts payable review and data entry, account reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Support payroll processing and maintain payroll records
  • Help prepare documentation for audits or monitors
  • Provide clerical support for financial reports and systems
  • Process accounts receivable/deposits and updates reports
  • Process contractor payment requests/new vendors/budget requests
  • Process small allocations and journal entries
  • 1099 processing back
    -up
  • Assist the Finance Manager in creating the monthly projection report
  • Performs related work as assigned
GENERAL

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

One (1) year of accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical experience preferred (internship or coursework accepted).

Skills

Knowledge of personal computers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Good communication and teamwork abilities
