Administrative Office Clerk
Responsible for facilitating the efficient operation of the school's administrative office and for providing clerical services, as needed, for the school's administrative staff.
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED. Secretarial/clerical training in a business/technical school or college, preferred.
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Proficient skills in typing, word processing, bookkeeping, and file maintenance; ability to use personal computer and software; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to communicate in both English and Spanish, preferred.
Experience:
Three (3) years of secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a public school environment.

Pay Grade: CT-04
Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $18.00 Maximum: $24.86. Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
Major Responsibilities and Duties/
Essential Functions:
- Assist principal in maintaining an efficiently operating school office.
- Produce written correspondence and other documents.
- Maintain proper files and records related to the administrative and clerical functions of the school.
- Maintain inventory of school supplies, mailing lists, student records, visitor logs and other office communication.
- Assist students, teachers and parents as needed.
- Maintain a daily teacher attendance record and the work records of substitute teachers.
- Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for principal.
- Submit work orders, purchase orders and travel requisitions.
- Maintain and manage the school activity budgets and keep accounting records current.
- Attend required campus or district training sessions.
- Assist other office staff as appropriate (answer phones, administer medication to students, etc.)
- Prepare all time sheets and payroll reports.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
- Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).

Mental Demands:
Reading; ability to perform basic computations; maintain emotional control under stress, working with frequent interruptions.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; occasionally lift and or move up to 45 pounds and over.
