Responsible for warehouse and distribution activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing finished goods.
About the RoleReview and analyze inventory reports and surplus stock lists to improve inventory control. Collect and interpret information on present and future distribution needs for planning purposes.
Responsibilities- Ensures conformity with shipping commitments; evaluates shipping deadlines and take corrective action to eliminate behind-schedule conditions.
- Supervise the receiving and storing of merchandise and finished goods supplies.
- Oversee the inspection of incoming material for conformity with order and specifications and for defects.
- Arranges for return of defective material.
- Arranges for inventory reviews and reconciles book inventories with physical counts.
- Responsible for managing and directing the activities of the distribution center, involving the reception, delivery and control of merchandise.
- Develops and monitors budgets, maintains safety/security and inventory control programs, ensures distribution center facilities and equipment are properly maintained, and proposes improvements in order to optimize the distribution process.
- Exercises general supervision of overall distribution activity, including inventory control, order processing, warehouse activities, transportation, maintenance, and customer service.
- Ship customer requirements with safe and lean techniques.
- Maintain customer expectation of delivery and quality.
- Receive all productive and non-productive materials and flexing into inventory before shipping to the plant in a timely manner.
- Receive finished goods and maintain in good condition following FIFO order in shipments.
- Maintain an accurate inventory rate using cycle counts.
- Make customer shipments in a timely manner.
- Follow through and complete projects as required.
- Address problems or inconsistencies with department and resolve.
- Interface with internal departments, manufacturing facilities and corporate offices.
- Prepare and maintain various reports as required.
- Maintain records in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 requirements.
- Attend internal and/or customer meetings as required.
- Handle document control (filing) and housekeeping (cleanliness & organization of work area).
- Incorporate teamwork in overall work performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Management Systems Responsibilities:
- Verify compliance with work instructions according to ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 requirements and procedures.
- Contribute to the Environmental System Management being aware of the importance of the ISO 14001:2015 requirements and its benefits, support compliance to environmental goals and objectives.
- Notify any situation that may represent a non-compliance to the quality, environmental or safety management systems requirements or any other condition that may have a potential or emergency impact.
