Compliance Specialist; Import​/Export & Regulatory Risk Management

Position Summary

The Compliance Specialist supports the organization's import/export operations, compliance, and regulatory risk management activities. This role works cross-functionally to ensure adherence to U.S. and international trade laws, corporate policies, and contractual obligations.

" Support implementation and monitoring of compliance programs
" Conduct legal and regulatory research
" Assist with audits, investigations, and corrective actions
" Draft and maintain compliance policies and training materials

" Support HTS classification, COO determinations, and valuation
" Ensure compliance with CBP, EAR, ITAR, and CTPAT Certification Standards
" Coordinate with brokers and logistics providers
" Maintain statutory import/export records

" Identify compliance risks and gaps
" Track remediation actions
" Support compliance metrics and reporting

• Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business, or related field
• 5+ years compliance, legal, or trade experience
• 5+ years Customs clearance experience- with harmonized tariff schedule (HTS)
• 5+ years Identifying Country of origin experience
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Experience with Forced labor requirements
• Experience with CTPAT
• Intermediate excel and reporting skills
• Cross border compliance
• Business level Spanish Required (read, write, verbal)
• Business level English Required

Preferred Qualifications

" Automotive or manufacturing experience
" Paralegal certification, law degree or law firm background
" Familiarity with USMCA, IATF 16949
