The Opportunity

CMP Commercial Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for a federal construction project.

This role is ideal for a field leader who can manage subcontractors, coordinate self-perform crews when needed, maintain strict safety standards, and keep projects moving in occupied or operational environments.

As a Superintendent, you will serve as the onsite leader responsible for project execution, safety, coordination, documentation, and communication between the field and project management team. You will have the autonomy to lead while being supported by experienced project managers, field operations leadership, and a company culture that values professionalism, accountability, and long-term growth.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Oversee daily field operations on federal, VA, municipal, and commercial construction projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, self-perform crews, vendors, inspections, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work is completed according to project drawings, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a strong safety presence on site, including work at heights, occupied facilities, and active construction environments.
  • Manage project logistics, material coordination, site access, and daily workflow to reduce delays.
  • Keep accurate daily reports, field logs, project documentation, photos, and progress updates.
  • Support documentation-heavy government and federal project requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers and the Director of Field Operations to keep work aligned with scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Identify field conflicts early and resolve issues before they affect project timelines.

    Maintain a professional onsite presence with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal teams.
  • Use project management systems, including Red Team, to support communication and documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience leading field operations in commercial general construction.
  • Strong ability to manage subcontractors, field crews, schedules, safety, and jobsite logistics.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, project documents, and submittals.
  • Experience maintaining daily field logs, progress reports, site documentation, and project updates.
  • Strong communication skills with project managers, subcontractors, clients, inspectors, and field teams.
  • Ability to stay focused on overall site supervision, safety, coordination, and project execution.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for project assignments across Central Texas and the DFW region.
  • Ability to work on active, occupied, or sensitive job sites where safety, professionalism, and coordination are critical.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • 8+ years of construction leadership or superintendent experience.
  • Experience with federal, VA, Department of Defense, municipal, or other government construction projects.
  • Experience working in healthcare, VA, military, or occupied-facility environments.
  • Background with mechanical, HVAC, controls, electrical, or interior finish-out scopes.
  • Experience managing prevailing wage projects.
  • Familiarity with Red Team or similar construction management software.
  • OSHA, Fall Protection, lift, or other safety-related training or certifications.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Military service, veteran background, or experience working with veteran-focused programs is a plus.
