Position Overview

The Construction Management Intern will support project teams in both field and office environments while learning the fundamentals of commercial construction management. Interns will gain experience in:

  • Project coordination
  • Scheduling
  • Safety practices
  • Field operations

This position provides the opportunity to learn directly from experienced construction professionals while building a strong foundation for a successful career in construction management.

Key Responsibilities Project Coordination
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project activities
  • Support project documentation, scheduling, and coordination with subcontractors
  • Attend project meetings and help track project progress
Field Operations
  • Participate in jobsite walks and safety inspections
  • Observe and assist with field coordination activities
  • Learn how construction drawings and specifications translate into field execution
Preconstruction Support
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs and estimating activities
  • Help review construction documents and project plans
  • Support project planning and budgeting activities
Professional Development
  • Work alongside experienced construction professionals to develop industry knowledge
  • Gain exposure to both field and office operations
  • Develop communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Qualifications Required
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in commercial construction
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative
Preferred
  • Previous construction experience through coursework, internships, or related work experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

Location: Rio Grande Valley, Texas
Schedule: Part-time or full-time based on academic schedule
Compensation: Paid Internship
Term: Summer, Fall, and Spring opportunities available
