The Dentist role in the Greater McAllen Area is a full-time, on-site position responsible for providing comprehensive general dentistry and preventive care to a diverse patient population. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing examinations, diagnosing oral conditions, developing treatment plans, and delivering restorative, prosthetic, endodontic, and emergency dental services in line with clinical best practices. The dentist will educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care, collaborate with hygienists, assistants, and front-office teams to ensure efficient patient flow, and maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation.
The role includes adhering to infection control protocols, following state and organizational regulations, and contributing to a positive, patient-centered environment focused on quality outcomes and access to care.
- Possess a valid DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school and an active Texas dental license (or eligibility to obtain), with current DEA registration and CPR/BLS certification.
- Demonstrate strong clinical skills in general dentistry, including diagnostic assessment, restorative procedures, basic endodontics, prosthodontics, and routine oral surgery appropriate to a general practice setting.
- Show commitment to patient-centered care, with skills in patient education, pain management, and communicating treatment options clearly to individuals and families of varied backgrounds.
- Exhibit excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and adherence to infection control, OSHA standards, and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Display effective collaboration and communication skills, working smoothly with hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to support efficient and respectful care delivery.
- Ability to manage a steady patient schedule, utilize practice management and digital charting systems, and make sound clinical decisions in a busy practice environment.
- Prior experience in community-based or group practice settings, familiarity with Medicaid or managed care plans, and fluency in Spanish are beneficial but not required.
