General Statement of Job

The Recruiter promotes a college-going and college-completion culture in our communities. The recruiter plays a critical role in promoting South Texas College and Valley Promise initiative to prospective students, families, and community stakeholders. This position is responsible for outreach, recruitment, and engagement efforts to ensure eligible students are informed about the program's benefits and supported throughout the application process. The recruiter collaborates with high schools, community organizations, and internal departments to strengthen enrollment and enhance the visibility of the STC Valley Promise initiative.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Provides a positive, friendly and knowledgeable impression of the College utilizing excellent customer service.
• Designs and implements recruitment initiatives and events for the college and the valley promise program.
• Represent and conduct presentations at high schools, college fairs, community events, and other venues to promote program benefits.
• Build relationships with high school counselors and teachers to increase awareness of the Valley Promise initiative.
• Maintain a strong presence in the community, serving as the primary point of contact for prospective students and their families.
• Provide one-on-one support to prospective students and their families, guiding them through the application and enrollment process.
• Communicate program benefits, eligibility requirements, and Final date to receive applicationss clearly and effectively.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, or in-person meetings in a timely and professional manner.
• Track communication with prospective students and follow up to ensure successful enrollment.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, prospective student information, and application statuses.
• Analyze and leverage recruitment data to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and suggest improvements to maximize program impact.
• Prepare regular reports for the Director of Valley Promise, outlining progress toward recruitment goals.
• Work closely with the Valley Promise team to ensure a seamless transition for students from recruitment to enrollment.
• Monitor progress and goals within assigned districts.
• Performs a wide variety of customer service and office support functions, including responding to inquiries and providing information to student applicants regarding the enrollment process.
• Supporting Valley Promise Scholars with degree advising, course registration, degree planning, and connecting them with different student resources offered at the college.
• Conducts tracking, progress monitoring, and analysis of valley promise cohorts to facilitate student persistence, progress, and/or degree completion.
