Instructor - HVAC

Overview

Instructors are responsible for delivering educational materials using sound educational practices focused on the successful academic development of each student. They promote an engaging, dynamic, and student‑centered environment, providing support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed, while modeling professional behavior aligned with the Ancora Education Mission and Core Values.

• Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged educational experience.
• Ensure students are presented with material that meets learning objectives for each course within a program of study.
• Maintain instructional materials and equipment in working order, ensuring sufficient quantity for student use.
• Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities, maintaining required certification and licensure.
• Attend meetings, review assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory guidelines, as well as internal company policies.

• Active certification or licensure where required.
• Non‑Degree and Occupational Associate Degrees: minimum three years of practical work experience in instruction.
• Academic Associate or Bachelor's Degree: minimum four years of practical work experience and a related degree at the same level; online faculty must hold a master’s degree with at least 18 semester/24 quarter graduate credit hours in the content area.
• Exceptional cases: eight years of practical experience may be substituted for required experience.
• General Education courses: master’s degree with appropriate coursework; 18 semester hours at the master’s level may be required in some states.
• Documented prior teaching experience or completion of new instructor training before teaching.
• Highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects, including appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
• Solid computer software skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; success in collaborating with diverse groups of employees and customers.
• Ability to work in an observation/coaching-style environment.
• Capability to prioritize, accept responsibility, and meet deadlines.
• Superior organizational and problem‑resolution skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
• Eligibility to qualify as an instructor per institutional and accreditation standards.

• Previous experience teaching in a proprietary education setting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to proprietary education.

The role requires occasional standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; kneeling, crouching, or crawling; talking, hearing, tasting, or smelling; and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Prolonged periods are spent sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The work environment does not typically expose employees to weather conditions. Noise levels are usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
