PRIMARY

PURPOSE:

Assist the physical education teacher in the preparation, instruction and management of student physical activities.

• Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent, required;
  Associate degree or a minimum of 48 college hours, required;
  Paraprofessional Certification, preferred (required upon employment)
• Special Knowledge/
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to work cooperatively with students and adults: strong interpersonal skills;
  First Aid and CPR Training; knowledge of fitness and sports activities; ability to speak, read, write and follow written and oral instructions
• Experience: Experience working with children in sports/recreational activities, preferred
• Days: 187
• Hourly Pay Range: Minimum: $13.75, Maximum: $19.25
• Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job‑related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.

• Assist teacher in preparing for physical education activities and delivering instruction.
• Assist in supervising students throughout the workday.
• Assist the teacher in record keeping.
• Assist in maintaining equipment, supplies and storage facility.
• Participate in staff development.
• Assist the teachers with students that have special needs.
• Follow McAllen  service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).

Full-Time
Salary: $13.75 to $19.25 Per Hour
