Job Summary

The Lead Teller serves as a key operational resource within the branch, focusing on process oversight, compliance, and support for teller functions. They act as a liaison between the Teller line and branch leadership, helping to resolve complex issues, provide input, feedback and support to all members of the team. The Lead Teller will also offer operational guidance and frontline support to the Teller staff to promote consistent service and ensure regulatory compliance.

Duties
  • Oversees daily Teller operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Monitors and manages vault operations, including balancing, cash ordering, and buy/sell transactions.
  • Maintains inventory control to ensure adequate branch supplies.
  • Coordinates with Teller staff to ensure completion of Financial Center Assessments.
  • Assists with new hires informal training.
  • Provides day-to-day operational guidance and informal coaching with management support.
  • Promotes products and services to new and existing customers/prospects, as well as making referrals to appropriate departments.
  • Promotes and maintains positive relations with all contacts, customers, and potential customers.
  • Complies with all department and company policies and procedures.
  • Handles escalated customer service issues and ensures timely resolution.
  • Prepares daily and monthly reports (Currency Transaction Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports, End of Month Reports, etc.).
  • Maintains confidentiality and upholds bank’s standards of trust and integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required;
    Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • 3+ years of prior Teller or other branch operational experience.
  • 1 year of prior lead teller, senior teller or similar role preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a sales-oriented approach.
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, the Windows environment, and internet research skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while performing assigned duties.
  • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi‑task and work in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Must be self‑motivated with strong initiative, high level of accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Must be versatile, flexible and able to adjust to changing schedules and have a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with basic calculator skills.
  • Ability to always maintain a high degree of ethical standards and complete confidentiality.
