Responsibilities include opening deposit accounts, handling customer inquiries in person or by phone, explaining the bank’s products and services, and ensuring that customers’ financial needs are met and their experience is positive. As a tenured banker dealing with premier customers, the banker will help mitigate risk, retain deposits, and train new bankers.

Essential Duties
  • Open new “International” and “Domestic” commercial and personal accounts, including checking, savings, certificates of deposit, money markets, safe deposit boxes, and IRAs.
  • Collect or complete all required documentation for accounts to comply with regulatory requirements and bank policies.
  • Respond to customers requesting account closures, determine reasons, and offer possible alternatives.
  • Conduct credit and banking history inquiries prior to opening accounts.
  • Submit new account files to quality control and CAG in a timely manner.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding their account or company products/services in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Actively call on customers with maturing CDs to renew and retain the deposit relationship.
  • Prepare debit card applications, manage addendums on DDA accounts, and ensure safe keeping until pick‑up.

  • Perform wire transfers (domestic, international, foreign exchange), confirm and verify instructions with authorized signers, verify signatures, and review availability of funds.
  • Assist foreign customers by sending pre‑approved checks to third‑party merchants (utility bills, credit card payments, etc.).
  • Maintain a tickler list, clear errors and exceptions quickly.
  • Perform critical risk‑mitigation processes, including basic and enhanced due diligence.
  • Collaborate with product partners (Treasury Management, Credit Cards, Payroll, Foreign Exchange, Mortgage, etc.) to analyze, evaluate, and develop tailored relationship strategies.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all bank products and services.
  • Safeguard customer information at all times by securing sensitive data, applying cybersecurity best practices, and following procedures for customer requests.
  • Act as a specialist in interpreting Mexican business documentation to identify powers, authority levels, business nature, and structure.
  • Assist in training new Premier Bankers on systems and processes.
  • Identify solid referrals for foreign exchange and mortgage.
  • Upsell Treasury Management solutions and coordinate set‑ups with TM analysts.
  • Assist management in completing risk‑mitigation exercises, including BSA RFI and EDD reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of prior banking experience preferred.
  • Previous sales or customer service experience required.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a sales‑oriented approach.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Windows environment, and internet research.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bilingual—English/Spanish required.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions and balance expected totals.
  • Excellent analytical, time‑management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with ability to multi‑task in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Team‑orientated, positive interpersonal skills with co‑workers and management.
  • Versatile, flexible, and enthusiastic about working with changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and diverse backgrounds.
