* ### Performs routine and assigned activities in the AMT program labs.* ### Assists instructors with class lab activities.* ### Assists with troubleshooting lab equipment and performs minor repairs* ### Assists with the maintenance and orders inventories of consumable supplies and ensures security of each item.* ### Assists with preparation and organization of special events for the AMT program.* ### Assists with open labs for students* ### Assists to install most recent versions of software.
* ### Assists with testing new equipment for accuracy and quality.* ### Prepares set up of labs ensuring all labs are clean and orderly, and tools or equipment are properly returned to their original location.* ### Maintains consistent communication with supervisor.* ### Maintains a safe learning environment.* ### Performs other duties as assigned.* ### Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* ### Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, the Windows environment, and internet research skills.* ### Familiarity with lab equipment.* ### Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail, within stated deadlines.* ### Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.* ### Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse, multi-cultural college population.
* ### Demonstrated commitment to achieving the vision and mission of South Texas College.* ### Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.* ### Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.* ### Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, customers or employees of organization.* ### Ability to apply practical understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* ### Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.* ### All applicants are subject to a national criminal background check under South Texas College policy.* ### National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Machining Level 1 Standard preferred.* ### Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* ### Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.* ### Body agility is emphasized.* ### Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. Crouching:
