Responsibilities
Position summary:
Staff Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist in accordance with patients’ plan of care. The PTA will screen patients, educate patients and families, and utilize exercises and physical therapy modalities to treat and rehabilitate persons with medical problems, health‑related conditions, or developmental disabilities that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities.
Some travel between facilities and job functions may be required.
Qualifications
Must be able to travel to STHS facilities as needed. Membership in a professional organization is preferred.
- Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
Education / Licensure
- Licensure in the State of Texas as a Physical Therapist Assistant, or a valid temporary Physical Therapist Assistant license for the State of Texas while awaiting the permanent license.
- Clinical experience preferred.
- Must have and maintain a current BCLS certification, according to unit‑specific needs, in accordance with the curriculum of the American Heart Association for the Healthcare Providers Program.
