Maintenance Mechanic II – Rio Grande Regional Hospital
OverviewWe are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to help ensure we provide high quality, efficient care for patients. The role supports the maintenance process of the organization and assists with repairs, machine maintenance, and mechanical equipment.
What you will do in this role- Supports the maintenance process of the organization
- Demonstrates responsibility for containment of hospital costs and conservation of supplies and equipment
- Demonstrates knowledge of and rationale for safe use of equipment
- Reports equipment malfunctions and environmental concerns; takes appropriate action
- Efficient and effective in daily performance; uses time management skills to be productive
- Follows through with tasks/problems and provides necessary feedback
- Participates in required continuing education programs and in-service
- Contributes to the learning of new employees, students, floats & agency personnel
- Participates in staff meetings
- Maintains departmental attendance standards as per hospital-wide policy
- Maintains confidentiality
- 5 years hospital maintenance experience and/or 5 years in a particular trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, refrigeration plant/boiler operation)
- Electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, refrigeration plant/boiler operation preferred, not required
Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas has served the Rio Grande Valley for more than 30 years. Our full service hospital has 320+ beds and a team of more than 500 physicians representing 35+ specialties. We offer a full range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. Our Emergency Room is a Level III Trauma Center, with three remote ERs in McAllen/Mission, Edinburg, and San Juan.
Our Women’s Services include L&D and a 30+ bed NICU. We also have a children’s hospital within the main facility. We work with the Texas Transplant Institute, serving local patients in need of organ, tissue or stem cell transplants.
