Assistant

Community Manager

The Assistant Community Manager is responsible for overseeing, under the supervision of the Community Manager, the everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community. The role includes delinquency and rent collection to optimize cash flow, managing all phases of operations—personnel, leasing, maintenance, financial, administration, and risk management—in the Community Manager’s absence, and supervising staff to ensure compliance with company policies, safety and fair housing guidelines, and liability concerns.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Financial Management
  • Post all payments and income accurately and promptly.
  • Process and reconcile daily account receivables.
  • Manage bad debt, prepare late notices, and coordinate evictions when necessary.
  • Help the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
  • Post charges to resident and non‑current resident accounts, including utility bill backs where applicable.
  • Perform end‑of‑month closing procedures and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records; audit resident files for accuracy.
  • Walk units and post all move‑out charges, statements, and security deposit refunds.
Personnel Management
  • Attend onsite daily as required.
  • Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop onsite staff using company standards.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, counseling, and guidance to ensure staff competency.
  • Promote a harmonious, high‑quality work environment through effective leadership.
  • Maintain staff compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage leasing processes, ensuring closures, follow‑ups, documentation, and reporting are accurate.
  • Implement marketing strategies per the annual marketing plan.
  • Address resident complaints, concerns, and requests to maintain satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement resident retention programs such as events, promotions, and newsletters.
  • Show, lease, and facilitate moves for prospective residents.
Administrative Management
  • Provide excellent customer service and monitor maintenance service request turnaround.
  • Maintain property appearance and ensure timely repairs through regular inspections and tours.
  • Assist in supervising all business functions related to operations.
  • Plan and use property resources, equipment, and supplies economically, including vendor bidding and service evaluation.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred, or two years in the housing industry, or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to remain stationary (standing or sitting) for prolonged periods and communicate with others.
  • Frequently required to move about to accomplish tasks or move between work sites.
  • Occasionally required to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, step stools, and similar equipment; lift and move objects up to 25 lbs.; operate machinery or power tools; operate motor vehicles or golf carts; work overtime, weekends, night hours (emergencies); work in small, confined spaces; tolerate extreme temperatures; work outdoors in precipitation and wind; and be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range
: $15 per hour to $16 per hour

At Asset Living, a variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, skill set, background and training, certifications, etc. When selecting the top candidate, the offer depends on each individual’s relevant experience for the role. The employment offer includes a comprehensive rewards package that provides benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance), 401(k) with employer matching, and commission and performance bonuses when applicable.

Full‑time employees also receive paid sick days and company holidays.
