Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair agricultural and processing equipment (e.g., conveyors, motors, gearboxes, packing machinery).
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Replace or repair faulty components such as belts, bearings, chains, seals, and gaskets.
  • Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities, parts usage, and repairs performed.
  • Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and emergencies during production.
  • Calibrate and adjust machinery to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Assist with equipment installations and setup of new production lines as needed.
  • Work closely with production supervisors and maintenance team to prioritize repairs and schedule maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist in the training of team members on basic maintenance tasks or equipment use if required.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or industrial systems preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an agricultural, food processing, or manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with pumps, motors, gear reducers, and production machinery is strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools and repair techniques.
    • Ability to read mechanical diagrams, manuals, and work orders.
    • Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
    • Forklift certification and/or ability to operate lifts and hoists is a plus.
    • Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
    • Physically capable of lifting heavy parts, working in varying conditions, and standing for extended periods.
    • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
