Regional Organizer (Rio Grande Valley)
The primary responsibility of the Regional Organizer is to register and turn out new voters by engaging their communities and neighborhoods effectively in the Rio Grande Valley. The program will include relational organizing, community organizing and digital organizing components. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with volunteers, community members and local organizations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Execute voter registration, relational organizing, and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts across their region.
- Utilize relational organizing tools and strategies to engage personal networks and expand direct voter outreach.
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteer leaders to drive organizing efforts within their communities.
- Plan and implement voter registration activities, including tabling, community events, and door-to-door canvassing.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and coalition partners to strengthen outreach and engagement.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting of all voter registration and organizing activities, in full compliance with Texas Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) guidelines.
- Maintain adaptability and physical stamina to support field work, including extended periods of walking/standing and transporting/setup of event materials (e.g., tables, tents, supplies).
- Commit to a field- and admin-heavy role requiring regular regional travel and consistent, direct engagement with voters, volunteers, and partners.
This role requires strong attention to detail, consistent follow-through, and the ability to balance on-the-ground organizing with clear and timely administrative reporting.
- Field Coordination & Communication:
Maintain consistent communication with field and management teams, including regular email monitoring and timely updates on regional progress, needs, and challenges. Participate in required staff and internal meetings. - Volunteer Engagement & Training:
Plan and lead regional trainings for volunteers, supporting ongoing base-building efforts and leadership development. - Data, Reporting & Documentation:
Accurately track and report daily activities, including events, volunteer engagement, and field interactions. Maintain detailed notes and submit timely reports to ensure alignment and accountability across teams. Learn to use tools like Blocks, Empower, Every Action, Mobilize, Google Suite, or other organizing databases - Digital Content Support:
Capture and contribute digital content from field activities to support storytelling, visibility, and program goals. - Administrative Compliance:
Complete required administrative tasks, including mileage tracking, time tracking, and adherence to reporting deadlines and organizational systems.
As a field-based position, Regional Organizers are expected to work in person at their regional office and to spend a significant portion of their time engaging directly with voters and volunteers in the community. You will be required to report face to face with your manager at the beginning and end of each shift to check in, collect materials, and debrief as needed.

Regional Organizers will be expected to:
- Ensure accuracy, diligence, and quality control in all voter registration efforts, following all Texas Volunteer Deputy Registrar laws, including timely submission of forms.
- Organize and execute in-person voter registration and relational organizing at community events, high-traffic locations, and through neighborhood canvassing.
- Engage community members confidently in diverse settings - often independently - including one-on-one conversations about civic participation.
- Navigate challenging interactions professionally, including de-escalating conflict when needed.
- Meet established organizational metrics and goals for voter registration and community engagement.
