Registered Nurse RN CCU PRN

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The RN is responsible for managing patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures; performs the primary function of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, guiding, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients. The RN provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy, and offers professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.

The concepts of Patient Centered Care form the foundation for all nursing care. The RN shall oversee and guide nursing employees that are under their supervision, interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments regarding patient care concerns, and assist in conflict resolution. The RN may be required to work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on‑call/call‑back status and consistently demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

• Prefer one year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in an acute care setting.
• Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, attendance at required training, and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Texas or compact state license or valid temporary RN license while awaiting permanent license (BSN preferred).
• Must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree, or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University (effective January 6, 2012). New graduate RNs with a permit to practice in Texas may provide documentation from their RN program validating completion of nursing program requirements.
• Must have and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must have and maintain current certifications as required by the unit, in accordance with the curriculum of the ARC or AHA for Healthcare Provider’s Program (applicable through the ARC or AHA program).

• Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas or a compact state license, or a valid temporary RN license while awaiting permanent license.
• BSN preferred.
• Must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree, or Diploma from an accredited School of Nursing or University.
• New graduate RNs may provide documentation from their RN program validating completion of nursing program requirements; a permit to practice is acceptable during this period.
• Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must maintain current certifications relevant to unit needs, following ARC or AHA educational programs.
