** General Statement of Job
** Manages all institutional research and produces comprehensive evaluation reports on institutional initiatives. Provides technical expertise on qualitative and quantitative research methodologies for purposes of evaluation and continuous improvement. Plans and administers all institutional surveys and focus groups. Serves as South Texas College Lead on all external institutional research collaborations. Assists the Dean with Institutional Review Board (IRB) review.
** Specific Duties and Responsibilities
***
* Essential Functions:
*** Manages the evaluation process of institutional initiatives and projects.
* Collaborates with college stakeholders and various business units to develop the evaluation plans for institutional initiatives and projects.
* Plans for the collection of necessary qualitative and survey data.
* Integrates quantitative, qualitative, and survey data to provide support for progress reports and final summative reports.
* Presents research and evaluation findings to college stakeholders.
* Serves as college lead on all external research collaborations.
* Creates and updates procedures, definitions, and standards for evaluation reports and reporting processes.
* Implements best practices in survey, qualitative research, and evaluation reports.
* Supervises institutional research analyst(s).
* Assists the Dean with review of Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications.
* Performs other duties as needed.
** Required
Education and Experience
*** Master’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
* At least Two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
* Experience with statistical analysis required.
* Experience in institutional research or related office at an institution of higher education. (preferred)
** Required Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
*** Excellent analytical skills.
* Expertise with qualitative and quantitative data analysis software and survey tools.
* Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* The ability to work independently with little direction as well as effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail, within stated deadlines.
* Ability to adapt to constant change and periods of fast-paced, high-intensity work situations.
* Strong commitment to quality and objectivity.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
* Ability to write research reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, faculty and staff.
* Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, the Windows environment, and internet research skills.
* Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed; willing to travel throughout the college district using own means of reliable transportation.
