Scope of Job Compensation & BenefitsThis trainee position is designed for individuals pursuing research as a vital part of their educational and professional development. The fellow will work under minimal supervision with some latitude for initiative and independent judgment in research and/or teaching activities.
Description Of Duties- Developing, testing, and analyzing research projects aligned with expertise and interests.
- Assisting in the creation and dissemination of survey instruments.
- Writing narrative summaries and research reports under faculty supervision.
- Conducting background research and developing evaluation plans.
- Implementing training activities as required.
- Teaching one to two courses per semester (if assigned).
- Publishing in peer-reviewed journals related to assigned research.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

- Education:
Doctoral degree in Physics, Astronomy, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
- Experience:
None required. - Licenses/Certifications:
None.
- Prior research or teaching experience in a related field is an asset.
- Proficiency in using computers, software tools, and statistical research applications.
- Office/research environment with some travel and weekend work required.
- As UTRGV is a distributed institution, presence may be required at multiple locations across the Rio Grande Valley.
- This is a trainee position for a specified period as agreed upon by stakeholders.
- All UTRGV employees must complete a criminal background check (CBC).
