Retail Sales Associate

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates to work in our pawn store locations nationwide. The pawnbroker / retail sales associate partners with the entire staff to provide customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers, processing sales, loans, and other transactions, and helping with customer inquiries and problem resolution.

Associates work with a variety of merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

The full‑time position offers an hourly wage of $10.75 to $13.00 per hour, plus commission based on productivity. Pay is based on location, qualifications, and experience.

• Greets and interacts with customers to build rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintains a clean, stocked sales floor and displays merchandise.
• Processes sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items following established policies.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Explains legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, showing respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Completes assigned training programs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Must be able to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
• May assist customers or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficient in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Flexible to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2%–8% commission based on gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed information is provided during the interview process.

Pay rates will not be below any applicable local minimum wage requirements. Employees must agree to a binding arbitration agreement to resolve disputes.
