The Global Services Sales Manager enhances departmental profitability by leading sales efforts for Global Services, supervising FX Bankers, and pursuing independent business development.
The role works closely with Commercial Bankers, Relationship Managers, Retail Banking Center personnel, and Lending staff to serve as the primary sales leader for Global Services. The manager provides insights into potential growth, identifies international business opportunities, expands the international customer base, responds to customer inquiries, explains products and services, and directs customers to appropriate bank personnel.
Essential Duties- Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
- Represent Vantage Bank and Global Solutions in internal and external settings for Currency Exchange, Forwards and Derivatives, Hedge Products, FX Credit Lines, and International Trade Letter of Credit.
- Partner across the Vantage Bank organization to target and build opportunities for Global Services solutions and depository business.
- Achieve annual performance metrics for new business sales, call efforts, revenue growth, client retention, and profitability.
- Manage and maintain an accurate and timely sales pipeline.
- Act as a mentor to the FX Bankers, increasing their industry, system, and sales acumen.
- Contribute to the product development process with market-based knowledge, client/prospect feedback, and a balanced business‑based approach.
- Review and evaluate regular reports of branch activities, potential customers, cold visits, and new prospects.
- Identify potential customers and follow up on cold visits.
- Conduct presentations in a mix of settings and follow up with visits after events for prospects.
- Travel within the US and Mexico for potential customers, follow up visits, system integration, and online platform implementation.
- Provide detailed reporting and leads to the branch network and Market Presidents with periodic monitoring and follow‑up.
- Promote a sales culture and ensure staff receives proper training to demonstrate the ability to sell Global Services products and reach sales goals.
- Evaluate potential prospects in the region, develop partnerships with sales representatives, Commercial lenders, Branch managers, and TMO services for business‑development opportunities.
- Continuously enhance and implement the sales plan to ensure branches meet their income goals.
- Support FX Bankers to quote exchange rates to customers and branches.
- Deal with transactions with liquidity providers and manage the foreign currency risk position exposure following internal procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations, including BSA, CIP, and OFAC requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field required;
Finance or Economics degree strongly preferred. - 5+ years of prior banking experience with international clientele.
- 3+ years of prior experience related to foreign currency markets and derivatives.
- Bilingual—English/Spanish required.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Well‑versed in wire transfer fulfillment and processing both domestic and international.
- Experienced in implementing measures to minimize security, fraud, and customer risk when processing and/or servicing.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and utilize custom banking systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while performing assigned duties.
- Excellent analytical, time‑management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to multi‑task and work in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Self‑starter with strong initiative, high level of accountability, and attention to detail.
