Shipping-Receiving Assistant

ITS has a client seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping-Receiving Assistant in McAllen, TX. This position requires a proactive approach to managing shipments, maintaining records, and supporting overall logistics operations.

• Perform daily shipping duties and coordinate activities to verify and keep records on shipments.
• Receive returns, arrange collections, and provide tracking information.
• Label and palletize shipments for safe transportation.
• Assemble and pack orders for dispatch, and load/unload incoming truck lines.
• Complete deliveries and pickups efficiently.
• Maintain shipping/receiving areas in a neat and orderly manner.
• Clean out excess cardboard, strapping, and pallets daily.
• Ensure docks are kept swept, trash is picked up, and unnecessary pallets are put away.
• Provide backup support as needed and follow department policies for continuous quality improvement and safety.
• Assist with production needs and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Support ISO Quality System and Policy, continuous improvement efforts, and utilize Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Receive incoming shipments physically and in IQMS, and keep current with shipping vendors’ software.
• Perform incoming material inspections and checks when required.
• Respond to customer demand through personal commitment when required.
• Check items to be shipped against sales or work orders to ensure quantities, destinations, and routing are correct.
• Contact carriers to make arrangements and issue instructions for shipping and delivery of products.
• Help trace, track, and provide proof of deliveries when needed.
• Be proficient with carrier websites and prepare necessary documentation to route shipments.
• Work within all areas in a professional manner.

• Ability to use a forklift and hand truck.
• Capable of lifting up to 25kgs or 40lbs.
• Strong interpersonal, team working, and communication skills.
• Current full UK or US driving license.
