Dock Worker

Pillar Logistics, LLC dba Summit Delivery Services is a national Brokerage Company providing 3 rd party logistics services. An integral part of our service offering is coordinating Independent Motor Carriers to provide home delivery of large appliances and electronics to consumer homes and businesses on behalf of our clients. We are providing top-tier experiences in the McAllen, TX market for a leading retailer of appliances.

We are currently seeking to hire an enthusiastic and motivated individual for our McAllen, TX location. This position provides overall support for the account to ensure the targeted quality, operational and financial goals as set forth by the company and the client are met. This position encompasses all aspects of warehouse operations as well as some customer service and dispatch duties.

This position receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

• Reads manifest to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Unloads trailers and moves items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins per pre-determined sequence
• Assembles orders from stock and places orders on lanes
• Marks materials with identifying information
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers
• Records number of materials or items received or distributed
• Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for loading
• Using computer to enter records
• Maintains inventory records
• Scan and load product
• Maintain warehouse and loading dock cleanliness, including rubbish and haul-away processing
• Daily and weekly inventory reports
• Check and respond to inventory related e-mails
• Check in I.C.C delivery trucks and records returned merchandise
• Creates transfer for outbound product
• Ensure secure warehouse facility (maintaining all door locks and security measures)
• Comply with all OSHA Standards
• Open or lock down facility (dock and main doors) as planned
• Dispatch and monitor ICC delivery trucks
• Ensures delivery processes are followed
• Make follow-up calls to customers to resolve issues and complete post-calls to ensure customer satisfaction
• Updates reporting with live time updates
• Operates a computer and phone
• Handles inbound phone calls from delivery teams, client staff, company staff and customers
• Provides data entry functions for billing, client software updates and company software updates
• Check-in of ICC delivery teams
• Provides support to other staff and clients to accomplish projects as needed
