2nd Shift Yard Jockey - Hammond, LA

PRIMARY WORK LOCATION

This position is physically based at the Hammond, Louisiana facility. The employee will report to and perform all work at the Hammond, Louisiana location. This position is not located in McComb, Mississippi.

The Yard Jockey moves trucks and trailers around in the loading area, spots incoming trucks, and assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed.

• Move tractor‑trailer trucks and trailers around the yard to load and unload.
• Spot incoming trucks, relaying information to dock.
• Assist with unloading and loading trucks as needed to help product flow to and from the processing plant.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead, or participate in solution implementation.
• Wear PPE in all areas where mandatory, helping to promote a zero‑accident culture.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

None. This is an individual‑contributor role with required competencies:
Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CDL license in good standing.
• DOT certification.
• Forklift certification.

• Experience in driving tractor‑trailer.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner; multilingual strongly preferred.
• Ability to handle and resolve most issues efficiently while ensuring confidential information is relayed only on a need‑to‑know basis.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and high attention to detail.
• Strong customer‑centric attitude, high energy level, and strong sense of urgency.

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory.

• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45°F, 4°C).
• Ability to stand for an 8‑hour shift.
• Will be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO₂, and moving production.
