Position: Finisher 2 (1st Shift)

Summary of Position

This position is responsible for performing any job duties required in the finish / assembly area and a minimum of one higher skill level position associated with the area. Jobs include all Finisher 1 jobs as well as Inspector and Hydrotesting.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to work overtime is required, including extended shifts & weekends, to meet business needs.
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures to eliminate risks to health and environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or unlawful activities that present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
  • Follow required instructions for assembly, packaging, processing and inspection of final product.
  • Perform quality inspections of packaging materials and the final product during packaging.
  • Ensure all required documents are properly completed.
  • Ensure all packages and disks are labeled properly.
  • Ensure final product meets customer requirements.
  • Use frequent physical effort to perform job duties.
  • Foster professionalism with all associates and internal and external customers.
  • Monitor and follow safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines.
Department Specific / Non‑essential Functions
  • Participate in peer‑based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams) and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S.
  • Participate on project teams, star point teams and Kaizen events when needed.
  • Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role.
Education

High School diploma or GED (preferred).

Experience

Previous experience in manufacturing (preferred).

  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Good math, reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to exercise continuous mental, visual and audio attention.
Skills / Competencies
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Vision:
    Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks.
  • Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment and hoist, if needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
Other Skills

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Assessment

Employee must successfully complete Pre‑employment screening.

Organizational Relationships / Scope
  • Reports directly to Value Stream Team Leader.
  • Works closely with other departments to resolve issues with processes & equipment.
Working Conditions
  • High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
  • Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
  • Work in areas requiring safety equipment (steel‑toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high‑visibility clothing).
  • Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting performed regularly.
  • Requires high degree of manual dexterity, potentially under restrictive conditions.
  • Availability for overtime, including short‑notice overtime and weekend coverage to meet business needs.
