CASA of Henry County (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers are trained community members appointed by the court to provide consistent, independent advocacy for children involved in the child welfare system. By gathering information, monitoring cases, and making informed recommendations, CASA helps ensure that every child has a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.
CASA of Henry County works collaboratively with the court system, child welfare agencies, families, and community partners to give children a voice and promote positive, long-term outcomes.
This hybrid Volunteer role is located at CASA of Henry County in McDonough, GA. Volunteers will advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect by gathering information about the child's situation, reporting findings to the court, and making recommendations for the child's well-being. Daily tasks include attending court hearings, interviewing children, communicating with families and other stakeholders, and documenting case-related activities.
Qualifications- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interviewing, relationship-building, and collaborating with children, families, and professionals
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- A commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children and handling sensitive situations with empathy and respect
- Willingness to complete required training under program guidelines
