Working as an After school Enrichment Program Instructor is not a full-time job. it is on an "on call" basis only, and you are not guaranteed any number of days of employment. After school enrichment Program Instructors are not eligible to draw unemployment wages. [Campbell v. Poythress, 216 Georgia Appeals 834 (1995)]
Daily Rate: $14.86/hr = $52.01/day
Essential Duties:
* Develop, plan, and implement a variety of academic and recreational enrichment activities for students.
* Maintain daily student attendance reports for assigned students.
* Coordinate activities to coincide with the daily time schedule as assigned by the Site Coordinator.
* Participate in training workshops. CPR certification must remain current.
* Provide direct supervision of students and remain in the program area during assigned hours.
* Maintain behavior management of students.
* Secure a substitute from available personnel when absent.
* Perform only those duties that pertain to the after school program during after school work hours.
* Maintain confidentiality of all school information concerning students, staff, and school business.
* Demonstrate positive working relationships with others.
* Perform general housekeeping duties.
* Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Must be 18 years of age.
* Must possess a high school diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE). College degree or
* college credit is preferred.
* Experience working with special needs students is preferred.
* Successful completion of a minimum of 10 contact hours of approved training during the first year of employment and 10 additional contact hours for each consecutive year of employment, required. Current CPR
* certification required.
* Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
* Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
* Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
* Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
* Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
* Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
* Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
* Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
