About the Role

Hello, Exceptional Children's Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Exceptional Children's Teacher for a school setting in McDonough, GA. In this role, you'll play a critical part in student success by implementing specialized instruction, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and student progress. This is a great fit for both seasoned special education teachers and those new to school-based settings.

What You'll Do
  • Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction across academic, behavioral, and functional domains
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals and individual needs
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support access to the general curriculum
  • Create and maintain a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes positive behavior
  • Support students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and health-related needs as required
  • Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation
What We're Looking For
  • Hold appropriate certification in all content areas
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • School-based experience preferred, not required
