Teacher | | |  |  |  || Work Days:  190 | |  |  |  |  ||  |  |  | Evaluation Tool:  TKES | | | | | || Essential Duties: | | | JD Revision Date(s):  12/23 | | | | | ||  |  |  |  |  |  || 1.  Maintain a caseload of preschoolers receiving services in the community and the home setting.

| | | | | | | | || 2.
Implement approved procedures for the identification of students with disabilities. | | | | | | | | || 3.  Maintain a caseload that does not exceed the maximum caseload set by the state. | | | | | | | | || 4.  Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of the Individual Education Program (IEP) for students in the program.

| | | | | | | | || 5.
Establish and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with community daycares and preschools. | | | | | | | | || 6.  Provide resources and information to community preschools and daycares to assist them in working with students with disabilities. | | | | | | | | || 7.  Assure all due process procedural safeguards are afforded to students and their parents.

| | | | | | | | || 8.  Use methodology for instruction according to the population needs. | | | | | | | | || 9.  Use carefully designed behavior management strategies as indicated. | | | | | | | | || 10. Administer evaluations of student progress toward mastery of established goals and objectives through data collection.

| | | | | | | | || 11. Maintain prompt and professional communication with parents. | | | | | | | | || 12. Participate in parental conferences when requested. | | | | | | | | || 13. Conduct initial and annual IEP meetings for students as assigned. | | | | | | | | || 14.

Serve as a member of the exceptional student education placement committee. | | | | | | | | || 15. Monitor records and procedures within the local school program for compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations. | | | | | | | | || 16. Follow all school and system procedures. | | | | | | | | || 17.

Ensure confidentiality for all students, student records, parents, staff, and school business. | | | | | | | | || 14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  ||

Qualifications:

| |  |  |  |  |  |  |  || 1.  Hold or be eligible for a minimum of a T-4 (Bachelor’s level) Georgia Educator Certificate in the appropriate field. | | | | | | | | || 2.  Minimum of three years of classroom experience with exceptional education students. | | | | | | | | || 3.  Skilled at working with a diverse group of students with disabilities.

| | | | | | | | || 4.  Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community. | | | | | | | | || 5.
Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation. | | | | | | | | || 6.  Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators. | | | | | | | | || 7.  Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work. | | | | | |  |  |  || 8.  

Ability to be present at the physical worksite. | | | | | | | | || 9.  Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. | | | | | | | | || 10. Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 40 pounds without assistance.  Ability to perform a two-person lift for students over 40 pounds in weight.

| | | | | | | | || 11. Ability to maintain the mental, emotional, and physical stamina necessary to deal with students who have special instructional and behavioral needs. | | | | | | | | || 12. Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations. | | | | | | | | || 13.

Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks. | | | | | | | | |
