Position: Lead Teacher For Special Education

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Lead Teacher for Special Education in McDonough, GA. The Lead Teacher will provide instructional modeling and instructional leadership in implementing and coordinating special education programs and services. They will deliver customized education plans, support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators, and ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations.

The Lead Teacher will also work to foster engaging learning environments that promote the academic, emotional, and social development of students with diverse needs.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience in Special Education instruction, curriculum development, and development of IEPs
  • Classroom management, behavioral intervention strategies, and inclusive teaching practices
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, support staff, and families, to enhance student outcomes
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written communication for record-keeping and reporting
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs
  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred, with valid state teaching certification in Special Education
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable educational environment
  • Experience in a leadership or mentoring role is a plus
