Job SummaryThe SHE Technician is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment within the warehouse by implementing and monitoring safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and providing training to staff. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with safety regulations and minimizing workplace hazards.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Inspections:
Conduct regular safety inspections of the warehouse to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. - Incident Reporting:
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine causes and recommend preventive measures. - Training and
Education:
Develop and deliver safety training programs for new hires and ongoing education for current employees to promote a culture of safety. - Emergency Preparedness:
Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness. - Safety Equipment Management:
Ensure that all safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and personal protective equipment (PPE), is available, properly maintained, and used correctly. - Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance audits. - Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up to date with local, state, and federal safety regulations and ensure the warehouse is in compliance. - Continuous Improvement:
Recommend and implement improvements to safety policies and procedures to enhance workplace safety.
- Conduct walkthroughs of the warehouse to monitor safety practices and identify potential hazards.
- Perform safety checks on equipment and machinery to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Review and update safety signage and labels as needed.
- Facilitate daily or weekly safety briefings with warehouse staff.
- Respond promptly to safety concerns raised by employees and take corrective action.
- Collaborate with management to address safety-related issues and implement solutions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional safety certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in a safety role, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Primarily works in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- May be required to stand, walk and lift for extended periods.
30-40 hours per week. This is a good faith estimate and actual hours may vary based on business needs.
