Civil Engineer (EI, FE, PE) – Tallahassee, FL
Moore Bass Consulting, a well‑established civil engineering firm, seeks an experienced Civil Engineer with civil site development and Civil 3D CAD experience. Candidates must hold a valid Florida EI or PE registration and have a strong background in land and site civil engineering design, particularly water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure projects. The role involves regular interaction with CAD drafters, technicians, and clients.
Typical Duties:
- Engineering design and CAD production for one or multiple projects and multiple clients.
- Engineering design for Civil and Landscape Architecture projects as required.
- Visit job sites and consultant offices as needed to support project and business development needs.
- Work within project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage other engineering and CAD technicians’ work and interface with other disciplines as needed.
- Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas.
- May supervise other technicians.
Education: BS degree in Civil Engineering.
Registrations: Current valid EI or PE (Florida).

- Design experience in support of public and private projects.
- Experience preparing construction plans.
- Experience with regulatory approval processes.

Drafter/Designer – Tallahassee, FLUnder the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer, this role primarily prepares subdivision layouts and drawings for proposed land development projects. Experience with Civil 3D software is required. Knowledge of GIS base maps, boundary and topographic surveys, and legal descriptions is essential.
Typical Duties:
- Produce layouts and drawings of proposed land development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Translate verbal and/or written instructions into drawings, incorporating architectural layouts, zoning and environmental constraints.
- Provide site planning technical support and research regulations and approval processes.
- Prepare written land development project summaries and narratives.
- Prepare rendered site plans and 3D modeling of site design concepts.
- Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas.
Preferred
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience with planning maps and site plan documents across residential and commercial projects.
- Intermediate expertise with surveys used as base maps for planning.
- Knowledge of site planning principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Ability to read construction plans.
- High proficiency in mathematics and measurements.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Survey Field Technician – Tallahassee, FLPerform construction stakeout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, route surveys, and other publicly and privately commissioned tasks.
Key Duties:
- Apply standard surveying techniques and procedures.
- Operate GPS, robotic total station, and scanners.
- Coordinate daily with party chief, field coordinator, project managers, and office staff.
- Adhere to safety regulations.
- Upload and download data collectors; maintain equipment.
- Continuously update knowledge of technology upgrades.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum two (2) years of survey‑related field experience.
- Basic mathematics and measurement skills.
- Knowledge of survey ethics and technical standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Ability to read construction plans and interpret field notes.
- Valid driver’s license and capability to travel.
