GENERAL FUNCTION

The Materials Handler I inspects and evaluates damaged product in accordance with company policy. Accurately inputs data in a timely manner.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspects and evaluates product in accordance with warranty policies.
  • Processes evaluations of product in a timely manner.
  • Assesses damage to eyewear and inputs defect codes for each product category.
  • Processes letters from consumers.
  • Communicates with Customer Service phone agents via email.
  • Inputs notes in system for clarification and documentation of packages.
  • Determines and implements correct repair process.
  • Inputs and verifies consumers  addresses (updates and makes changes when necessary).
  • Determines most appropriate methods of shipping for each package.
  • Suggests improvements for future growth of Warranty department.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and organized work station/area.
  • Researches and resolves warranty issues.
  • Repairs/adjusts eyewear as necessary.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to work from detailed procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by Supervisors/Manager
  • Ability to work in a stand/walk position for up to 8 hours
  • Able to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Ability to type minimum of 35 WPM
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Warranty Center or eyewear repair experience
  • SAP experience
  • Bilingual - able to read, write and communicate effectively in Spanish
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel
