The Duty Drawback Compliance Sr, Analyst is responsible for overseeing the company’s U.S. duty drawback program to ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations while maximizing duty recovery. This role serves as the subject matter expert for duty drawback eligibility, claim preparation, recordkeeping, audits, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will partner cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, Customs Brokers, and third‑party drawback providers to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant drawback filings.

MAJOR

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and maintain the company’s duty drawback program in compliance with 19 CFR Part 190 and applicable CBP guidance
  • Develop strategies and implement processes to identify and maximize drawback opportunities across product lines and various refund programs
  • Determine drawback eligibility for imported merchandise (manufacturing, substitution manufacturing, unused merchandise, rejected merchandise, etc.)
  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and industry best practices
  • Gather and validate data with internal (manufacturing, warehousing, logistics) and external (customs brokers) stakeholders
    • Product database, HTS code standardization, SAP reports, BOMs, product specs, shipment documentation, broker/freight forwarder reports
  • Prepare and submit drawback claims and ensure accurate tracking of entry data, exports, manufacturing records, and reconciliation of drawback claims
  • Maintain supporting documentation, records, and data for respective claims
  • Partner with Finance to reconcile drawback receivables, accruals, and revenue recognition
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to validate bill of materials, substitutions, yields, and production processes
  • Create and maintain drawback policies/procedures and internal controls
  • Serve as internal subject matter expert on compliance strategy and operational improvements
  • Identify compliance gaps, assess risk exposure, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay current on changes in drawback laws, regulations, rulings, and trade programs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience managing U.S. duty drawback programs
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations
  • Experience with CBP drawback audits and validations

    Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex compliance concepts clearly
  • Proficiency in Excel and drawback‑related systems or trade compliance software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • SAP Knowledge
  • Experience in manufacturing (apparel & eyewear) a plus.
