Job Summary

The Retail Travel Manager provides essential operational and organizational support to the assigned regional branches and Regional Area Director. This role is responsible for managing the region travel team along with helping to oversee branch operations and execution of sales and service objectives. The Retail Travel Manager ensures smooth daily operations within the branches and contributes to a positive, service focused experience for branch teams and internal business partners.

Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement strategy, assess and monitor performance, motivate and manage team to meet and exceed service and sales goals objectives as outlined by bank leadership.

  • Lead, recruit, train, coach, schedule, motivate, and evaluate the work of the travel team.

  • Execute staffing and onboarding for the travel team and lead trainings and staff meetings.

  • Demonstrate effective sales strategies to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships and guides team to achieve sales objectives through action planning.

  • Oversee the customer experience for branches within region by assessing customer and employee feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement, and researching and resolving complex problems to ensure customer service excellence.

  • Resolve customer complaints effectively while keeping the bank reputation and risk compliance in mind.

  • Ensure regular communication with bank leadership. Escalate up any critical issues or updates for resolution or awareness.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of banking products, programs, services, and promotions.

  • Approve policy exceptions within authorized limits.

  • Responsible for achievement of branch objectives, sales and service objectives as set by leadership.

  • May perform all sales and service functions of the branch as needed, including meeting or exceeding established targets.

  • Fill in for staffing needs at branches in region as needed.

  • Monitor Ameris Bank Marketplace orders/approvals as assigned.

  • Submit Branch/Regional Contact List updates regularly.

  • Research, monitor, and submit monthly market overdraft reporting.

  • Research, monitor, and complete monthly charge off reporting.

  • Help plan and coordinate region meetings (virtual and offsite) as assigned.

  • Help plan and coordinate training needs for region as needed.

  • Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with the Bank's Core Values of Integrity and Honesty.

  • Always act in the best interest of the customer when offering additional products and services.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
  • Highly motivated team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong sense of high customer service standards.

  • Knowledge of branch operations.

  • Knowledge of banking policies and procedures.

  • Intermediate PC proficiency.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong organization skills with ability to muti-task and prioritize effectively.

  • Presentation and training skills.

  • Able to analyze data and summarize results.

Industry and Work Experience
  • 4 or more years of retail banking experience required.

  • Supervisory, leadership or mentoring experience required.

  • Branch operations experience required.

  • Cross selling experience required.

  • Sales management and business development experience preferred.
