Industrial Maintenance Technician

Georgia-Pacific is looking for safety‑oriented individuals to join our team as Maintenance Technician in our climate‑controlled facility in McDonough, GA
!

• Starting pay is $31.50 – $39.50 per hour
• Shift differential is $1.00 per hour between the hours of 7 pm and 7 am
• Compensation can increase based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the plant.
• This role is eligible for our Performance Pay program that could offer up to a 6% quarterly bonus.

• Facility works a Dupont schedule (rotating 12‑hour shifts). You will work both shifts on a rotating basis: 6:45 am‑7 pm and 6:45 pm‑7 am. There are days off between your night and day rotations.
• Only candidates who can work this schedule will be considered.
• McDonough operates on a point‑based attendance program.

Georgia‑Pacific’s Mailers is a part of the Packaging and Cellulose business. The Mailers business is expanding its product lines, working with key customers to create and launch new products that complement our existing recyclable padded mailer business.

The Maintenance Technician will create value by performing scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance, and responding to unscheduled breakdowns.

• Troubleshooting, installing, aligning, dismantling, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical equipment for improved reliability
• Performing precision maintenance to identify and correct mechanical/electrical defects before machines fail
• Maintaining operations equipment to achieve optimal performance levels and meet customer demands
• Working with operations associates to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
• Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in safety program
• Helping meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals through a quality maintenance program

• Five (5) years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience
• Experience with electrical, mechanical and troubleshooting practices
• Experience working with a variety of hand and power tools including calipers, torque wrenches, voltmeters, impacts, bearing pullers, and infrared thermometers
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and OEM manuals
• This role works rotating 12‑hour shifts, with a 7‑day break every 28‑day period

• Associate’s Degree in an Industrial Maintenance field
• Advanced understanding of high‑voltage equipment 480V+
• Advanced maintenance and project leadership experience
• Experience in controls troubleshooting
• Experience in paper or corrugated maintenance

• Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing required safety equipment
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day in a loud/noisy, industrial, high‑volume environment
