Associate Technician 4th shift

Job Summary

The Production Associate plays a vital role in Essilor's manufacturing operations, focusing on coating, finishing, and surfacing of ophthalmic lenses. The candidate will work in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment and will be cross‑trained across multiple production areas to support overall productivity and quality.

• Clipper – clipping and securing lenses into baskets to begin the coating process.
• Machine Operator – preparing and operating the coating machine, loading machine chemicals, loading and unloading sectors with lenses.
• Inspector – inspecting lenses to ensure optical and cosmetic accuracy.

• Beveler – using the bevel wheel to remove sharp edges on lenses.
• Mounter – inserting edged lenses into frames ensuring proper fit and alignment.
• Edger Operator – using edging machines to cut lenses to the correct size and shape.
• Finish Layout Preparer – preparing uncut lenses for edging by outlining center/alignment markings and affixing the chuck/block.
• Tinter – accurately tinting lenses.
• Inspector – checking lenses and frames to meet quality standards.

• Surfacing Blocker – operating the blocking machine to secure a block to lenses and applying protective tape.
• Surface Finer/Polisher – operating equipment to fine and polish lenses.
• Lens Washer – hand washing, drying, and performing a cosmetic inspection of lenses.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• 1+ year of related manufacturing or lab experience.
• Ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment; depth perception and manual dexterity.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities.
• Attention to detail.

• Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of a shift.
• Experience working with chemicals.
• Capability to work in wet/dirty environments or where strong smells may be present.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed.

Employee pay is determined by geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
